Peace – ” a state of quiet; freedom from disturbance; freedom from……;ease of mind or conscience; tranquility….” The Chambers Dictionary 12th Edition. Of course peace is also freedom from war and a treaty that ends a war.
It is cliché to say that “outer peace comes from inner peace” however it would be remiss not to communicate the importance of inner peace and it’s ripple effect upon the world around us.
In an ideal world or perhaps Utopia there would be peace everyday for all beings however in today’s world that seems like a distant dream. Let’s not give up on that dream as each and every one of us can create more inner peace and contribute to world peace. No matter how small we might think our actions may be the accumulative effect of our actions can enhance our chances of a more peaceful world.

- When someone has a different opinion, world view than yours can you learn from them or do you make them wrong?
- Do you instigate or engage in gossip?
- Are you comfortable in your own skin?
- Can you sit in silence alone for prolonged periods?
- Do you share endless negative posts on social media?
- Do you get angry over trivial things
- Do you think there is a way to peace or that peace is the way?

- Practice mindfulness with your body, speech and mind. Be aware of your actions words and thoughts
- Let the lessons from your past guide your future rather than define it
- Give more compliments
- It only takes one person to end an argument between two people – be that person
- Walk away from gossip
- Spend more time in nature
- Embrace a difference as an opportunity to learn something new
- Meditate with your awareness on compassion and peace
- Volunteer or donate to a cause that encourages and contributes to peace
- Be kind to yourself and remember that you are doing the best you can
